Trolleybuses
[edit]I have just been told that this article is mostly about battery powered buses not, for example, trolleybuses. In my opinion this, even if there is a small mention of other sources of electricity, means that this article should be titled "Battery buses" not "Electric buses". I would seek opinions on this matter. 12:02, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with you. The article on battery buses already exists (battery electric bus), so I would move most of the content in this article to battery electric bus. There are some examples of electric buses which are not trolleybuses or BEB, such as flywheel buses, but they are extremely rare. We can keep this article as a generic introduction to all the different types of electric buses with the details in each specific article. --Ita140188 (talk) 13:47, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed - I think the BEB article is a better place for this content Turini2 (talk) 12:22, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, the modern Trolley bus is equipped with batteries that charge on the overhead wires. I think it would be a false dichotomy to separate electric trolley from BEB on the wiki page. If removing Trolley and setting up a title for wireless battery electric buses, there should be an electric bus page and at least 3 charging method specific bus formats: fuel cell, capacitor, and battery. Trolley would be part of this last group. 155.190.0.9 (talk) 22:31, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- There are always cases in between, but in general there is a clear distinction between trolleybuses and BEBs. Ita140188 (talk) 08:24, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
